THE TAPE SIZES OF THE ROLLED UP TAPES WITHOUT HOUSING 3/4 in. wide x 16ft. long tape wound up is 1-1/4 in. high. 1 in.wide x 25ft. long tape wound up is 1-1/2 in high. 1 in. wide x 30ft. long tape wound up is 1-9/16 in. high. 1 in. wide x50ft. long tape wouhd up is 1-13/16 in. high. Tobe able to incorporate this design you have to be able to use a short, strong, back wound return spring. The shorter the spring, the stronger the gear and housing have to be. That way you can produce a shorter length housing. You also need to incorporate the proper gear ratio to get the proper tape return. The gears and hollow shafts have to be free floating. The tape gear shaft has to fit the contour of the tape itself, and will help to reinforce the tape shape. The spring, tape, and spacer gear tooth count will vary depending on the length of the tape measure. We feel that the manufacturers that produce this newly designed tape measure will be able to DOMINATE the tape measure market. | |||||||||||||||||
